PTA Sponsored Run - 15th June

Now in its 3rd year, this event is open to children and adults, so time to get on your running shoes!



DATE: Sunday 15th June
TIME: 2 - 4 pm

FORMAT:
There will be a 500m circuit marked out around the school grounds.
Runners will complete a maximum number of laps depending on their age! The start times are to help us with numbers but it is not essential to be there at the suggested time if you have other commitments.

• Reception Children Up to 3 laps Start time 3.00pm
• Year 1 and 2 Up to 5 laps Start time 3.00pm
• Year 3 and 4 Up to 8 laps Start time 2.00pm
• Year 5 and 6 Up to 10 laps Start time 2.00pm
• Adults/older siblings Up to 10 laps

Plus…………..

• Fathers Day Race!! 2 lap sprint

There will be water available for all and refreshments for sale.

20% of monies raised will go towards The Race For Life (Cancer Research UK) and the rest towards more interactive whiteboards to be used in the school classrooms.

Please fill in the attached sponsor form and bring it with you on the day.

Please also return the form in this letter by Tuesday 10th June to allow us to plan for numbers. As always, offers of help for the event and to provide cakes to sell would be greatly appreciated, so please indicate this on the form.

The PTA would like to thank all involved for their hard work on the Quiz Night on Friday 9th May

The food, the bar, and the quiz itself all ran flawlessly, and the attendance was outstanding. We had enormous fun, and raised a fantastic £1100 towards the purchase of more interactive whiteboards.

Tickets: £8 per person including 2 course meal and a glass of wine.

Get together a team of 8 or just come along and we’ll put you in a team on the night. Organise a phone/text a friend - one per team allowed!

"Gift Aid" Your Donations

As a registered charity, the PTA has now been able to register for the government’s Gift Aid scheme. This means that when money is donated to the PTA we can reclaim tax from the government to increase the value of your donations. We can do this if you are a UK taxpayer and if you download and complete a Gift Aid declaration form.

See this letter for more information and please return your completed form to the PTA tin as soon as possible to help us increase our fund raising efforts!

We understand that busy parents and guardians are not always able to help with PTA events, but you can still contribute by including a cheque with your Gift Aid form, or by donating online. See the Donations page of the website for more information.

Easter Egg Hunt , Photo Sessions, and Worthy Lane Car Boot Sale

There was a fantastic turnout for the Easter Egg Hunt despite the weather, and we would like to thank all those who helped, especially those who sat in bushes for the afternoon. Thanks to everyone's hard work and support we raised approx £600.

The Photos have now been received from the Photo Session. Everyone has been pleased with the pictures and we raised £285.

We've had a great response from the letter home about Gift Aid - receiving over £300 in cheques. If you haven't yet mailed in your Gift Aid form then don't worry - we will be posting the form to this web site shortly, and you can always donate by following the links on the Donations page.

Finally, a reminder that this Sunday we are the nominated charity to collect at the Worthy Lane Car Boot Sale, so if you're thinking of having a clear out this is the weekend to do it!

Update on Music Festival & Photo Session

Thanks to all those who attended and supported the Music Festival & Photo Sessions.
Twenty five families took part in the Photo session making it a great success, so we will be looking into arranging another session soon.
The refreshments at the Music Festival raised £188 which will go towards purchasing radio mics to use in the school shows.

Worthy Lane Car Boot Sale: 30th March

On Sunday 30^th March the collection from stallholders at the boot sale will be going to the PTA. Come along and join us if you’re thinking of doing a sale.

Family Photo Session: 9th Feb

The PTA plan to hold a Family Photo Session on Saturday 9th February between 10am – 12 noon.

We will be using Cardwell & Simons, professional photographers, who will produce creative, quality photographs in a studio set up with no extra sitting fees to pay.

You will receive a proof photograph so you can choose what sizes you would like to order, prices start from £9.50.

If you would like to have photographs taken of your family, please download the form from this link, print it, and return the completed slip to the PTA tin by Thursday 31st January.

Music Festival: 9th Feb

The music festival will take place on Saturday 9th February from 2 – 4:30 pm.
In addition to the excellent entertainment we will be serving tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes. Donations of cakes would be very gratefully received... for details please contact a member of the PTA.

The proceeds from the refreshments will go towards purchasing Radio Mics to be used by the children in the school productions.
